PETA approved, GUNAS’s goal is to create sustainable products that are free of PVC and other plasticizers that pose a threat to our environment . A study conducted by the Center for Environmental Health in 2009 found that generic faux leather handbags found at many known retailers such as Macy’s, Target, Walmart, JC Penny were in serious violation of the California law due to the high level of lead and other hazardous chemical content in them. Most of those were found in the inks, dyes and hardware and have been known causes for cancer, infertility and heart problems.
