Actress Olivia Wilde and Alternative Apparel have launched a recycled-canvas bag that supports education in Haiti.
Olivia Wilde is wild about many things, but chief among them is Haiti , which the actress is helping rebuild after 2010′s devastating earthquake. Wilde, who co-founded Campaign Happiness to support development projects in the region, recently collaborated with Alternative Apparel on a road-ready messenger bag that benefits the Academy for Peace and Justice, a secondary school in Port-au-Prince funded by award-winning filmmaker Paul Haggis’s charity, Artists for Peace and Justice . Constructed from vintage army canvas, antique brass hardware, and pebbled leather trim (the last is an odd choice for a vegan-turned-vegetarian), the bag isn’t just a bag, it’s a promise of a better tomorrow.
