James Cameron launches America’s first vegan elementary school: Known for directing films such as Avatar and ...

Muse was founded by James’ wife Suzy Amis-Cameron and her sister, Rebecca Amis, in 2006. The school focuses on holistic education, cross-cultural education, and integration with the natural environment. As the curriculum also includes the importance of ecological stewardship, it just made sense to offer solely whole, plant-based foods to the students there. Last June, Amis-Cameron expressed her firm belief that people cannot claim to be environmentalists without going vegan, stating: “You can’t really call yourself an environmentalist if you’re still consuming animals”. Considering the massive eco-impact of farming animals for food, many would agree with her.
