The Crystal-Like Greenland Tower Breaks Ground in Chengdu, China

The extraordinary crystal-like Greenland Tower Chengdu has broken ground in China and, once completed, will be the tallest building in south-western China at an astonishing 486-meters high. The building was designed by Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill , who were inspired by the nearby the local ice mountains that surround the city of Chengdu. In order to create the impression of a sparkling glacier, the building will be lit up at night with inset LED lights , emphasizing the crystalline form of the structure.
