Exclusive scoop: Chevy Planning New Natural Gas Hybrid Vehicle Team ecofabulous has sniffed out a major development in the eco automotive category: General Motors is readying their next generation hybrid technology for release under the new moniker RE:VOLT. Unlike the current production Chevy Volt, which relies on an electric + gasoline combination, the RE:VOLT removes all dependence on fossil fuels and powers the on-board generator with natural gas (butt this is one time the anti-fracking community will be excited about natural gas). Once we got a whiff of this exciting news, we squeezed out more details… The RE:VOLT name refers to the natural gas recycling mechanism integrated into the car’s cabin.
