Nylon polymer manufacturer Aquafil, sock company Star Sock, and the European Centre for Nature Conservation have launched "Healthy Seas, a Journey from Waste to Wear’" an initiative to remove marine trash—discarded fishing nets, in particular—and recycle it into yarn for carpeting, socks, underwear, swimwear, and other textiles.
