If you talk to anyone involved in rescue, you’ll learn that moving is one of the biggest reasons people give when they surrender their companion to the shelter system. Maybe their new home won’t allow animals, or they are traveling a bit too far to be convenient to bring their dog or cat. Some leave their animal in the home after they move, hoping someone else will take care of him or her. Sadly, these stories are all too common. But it’s the animals who pay the price.
