15 major clothing retailers that have refused to sign the Bangladesh safety agreement

More than 40 of the world's leading apparel brands and retailers may have signed the Accord on Fire & Building Safety in Bangladesh , but dozens more are refusing to hold themselves legally accountable for safety and labor conditions in the factories they employ in the South Asian nation, where 1,127 garment workers died after the Rana Plaza building collapsed on April 24.. One startling commonality among the naysayers? They're overwhelmingly American. In fact, only two of the 42 companies that have embraced the stakeholder-drafted plan are based in the United States: Abercrombie & Fitch and PvH Corp ., the latter of which owns the Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger brands.
