Mario Batali and Environmental Working Group Promote Meatless Mondays

Chef and Food Network star Mario Batali is asking you to get healthy and save the planet by going veg…at least one day of the week. Batali has teamed up with Environmental Working Group (EWG) to promote the Meatless Monday campaign, started by the Johns Hopkins’ Bloomberg School of Public Health. According to the Meatless Monday website, their “goal is to help you reduce your meat consumption by 15% in order to improve your personal health and the health of the planet.” The chef says that the studies from EWG on the impact our food choices have on the environment were a wake-up call. The EWG recently released findings regarding common foods and their greenhouse emissions. Lamb was determined to be the most harmful environmentally , with beef and cheese not too far behind.
