China steps up hemp R&D efforts

HEILONGJIANG – China's Heilongjiang Province has stepped up its research and development efforts to develop fine hemp fibres at a large-scale, in a bid to provide a credible alternative to cotton. Managing director of bio-based institute and consultancy Nova Institute Michael Carus shares updates on China's hemp industry.
