The Big Question: What is Onshore Wind's Future in Europe?

This article completely ignores the critical issue with onshore wind: NOISE. Where ever these industrial sized turbines are installed close to homes, public outcry follows. It is my understanding that the UK has decided to end all onshore wind development due to the serious noise/health issues that comes with wind energy. I believe Denmark has followed suit. For as long as wind companies insist on placing turbines too close to homes, onshore wind energy will fail. New markets may open their doors in the short term, but in the long term the unresolved turbine noise issues will force wind turbines off shore. Not only is solar cheaper but it does not come with the serious environmental concerns or noise/health issues that are associated with wind energy.
