200 MW Tranquility solar project begins operation in California 26. September 2016 | Applications & Installations , Global PV markets , Markets & Trends | By: Sam Pothecary The huge utility-scale site was developed by Canadian Solar subsidiary Recurrent Energy and is majority owned by U.S. utility Southern Power, representing a rare new PV development of this scale in the U.S. as the trend shifts away from such large solar constructions. Canadian Solar’s subsidiary Recurrent Energy developed the project from start to finish, building the giant plant on 1,900 acres of retired agricultural land in Fresno County. Another mammoth solar PV plant has been put into operation in California, as the 200 MW Tranquility solar project officially begins generating electricity.
