The German companies OneShore Energy and BayWa r.e. have announced the completion of a PV diesel hybrid pilot system in Rwanda. The system will supply a tea factorie with clean solar electricity and save up to 22,000 kg of CO2 per year. The solar system provider BayWa r.e. has delivered the PV components for the hybrid system. The consumption-optimised design and efficient operation of the plant is enabled by OneShore Energy's software solution. During the inauguration, Rohith Peiris, General Director of the customer Sorwathe Ltd., stated: "Sorwathe is one of the leading tea factories in Rwanda. We utilise power both from the grid and from our diesel generators, which produce a high level of emissions.
