Top Corporate Users of Solar Power Friday, September 21st 2012 9:09 AM By GetSolar Staff. Corporations around the country have been looking to solar energy in an effort to cut costs and boost their environmental friendliness. The Solar Energy Industries Association and the Vote Solar Initiative recently compiled a report that ranked the top solar users in the corporate world. Topping the list that ranked companies by total solar capacity was Wal-Mart, which has 144 PV power systems installed in seven states, with a combined capacity of 65 megawatts. The No. 2 corporation on the list was Costco, which has 62 installation in five states with a combined capacity of close to 39 megawatts. Other major brands to make the cut include Kohl's, IKEA, Macy's, Staples, Walgreens and Campbell's. The top 20 corporate solar energy customers have a combined 1.2 million photovoltaic panels...
