Government must look to transport emissions on the road to fighting climate change Posted: 23 December, 2015. By Clare Wenner (REA) Following the landmark climate change deal agreed in December in Paris by 195 nations, each country must now look at the action needed to make the intention a reality. The COP21 plan is a major step in the right direction in terms of intent and pledges – but now we must create an action plan with some quick wins to make this pledge a reality. Alternatively we risk it becoming yet another pledge that hasn’t happened, while the planet continues to heat up and some countries face the very real prospect of obscurity as sea levels rise. In the UK, the Government has been in disarray on how and whether they will meet current emissions targets.
