Duke Energy begins rollout on 500MW of projects in Florida

Image: Duke Energy Duke Energy Florida (DEF) has commenced the rollout of a new portfolio of PV plants in “The Sunshine State.” As part of its long-term goals, Duke Energy Florida plans to install 35MW of solar in the state by 2018 and up to 500MW by 2024. The first step in the company’s new strategic outlook was announced with the development of a 3.8MW PV plant in Osceola County. Duke Energy Florida has already sent in a storm water and environmental resources permit to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and plans to file a land development permit with the Osceola County Planning Department.
