Korea-based PV module manufacturer S-Energy Co has had a new multicrystalline 1,500V module certified by UL for the US market. Targeting the North American commercial- and utility-scale markets, S-Energy said its new module enables a significant reduction in installation cost of approximately 10% due to 50% longer strings, and the need for less combiners and cabling when in 1,500V configuration, compared to conventional 1,000V systems. S-Energy said it would showcase the 1,500V module at Intersolar North America. It is also claimed to be PID (Potential Induced Degradation) free, has the UL certified PV module fire performance Type 1 or Type 2 applicable to system fire class A and is backed by a 25-year linear power warranty.
