SunEdison to develop seven PV plants in Long Island

Image: SunEdison Renewable energy development company SunEdison has signed off on deals with five municipal groups on Long Island, New York, to build seven solar installations for a total of 14MW. Power generated by these plants will be sold to utility Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) through separate 20-year power purchase agreements. The deals with the town of Southold, town of Easthampton, Nassau County, Suffolk County and the Suffolk County Water Authority were handed out as part of the LIPA's 100MW Clean Solar Initiative Feed-In Tariff program.
