In recent years, the world has looked to the renewable energy industry not only as a source of clean power that doesn’t pollute the air we breathe, but also as an economic growth engine with great potential for job creation during challenging economic times. First Solar has exemplified that growth story. First Solar was formed in 1999 and began commercial production in Perrysburg, Ohio, in 2002 with a single manufacturing line and approximately 150 associates. The company has expanded to about 1,800 associates in the U.S., including 1,200 in Perrysburg, which now is home to four state-of-the-art solar module manufacturing lines and First Solar’s resear...
