New York PSC Stays New Net Metering Rules @SEIA

“The PSC should be commended. This decision shows great thoughtfulness on their part. The commission’s prudent action will prevent unnecessary disruptions of solar projects that are already under development,” Resch said. “New York has become a leader in solar energy, largely due to smart, effective public policies such as net energy metering and the solar Investment Tax Credit. The 338 megawatts (MW) of solar energy currently installed in New York ranks the state 9th in the nation in installed solar capacity and is enough to power 57,000 homes. What’s more, there are now more than 488 solar companies at work hroughout the value chain in New York, employing 5,000 people.
