Invenergy acquires 7 MW-DC solar CPV project from Soitec

Invenergy LLC (Chicago) has acquired a 7 MW-DC concentrated solar photovoltaic (CPV) project in Southern California from Soitec (Bernin, France). The Desert Green project is located in Borrego Springs, 90 miles from San Diego, California. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin during March 2014, with commissioning expected by the end of 2014. Desert Green will feature more than 2,800 Concentrix CPV modules, which are manufactured at Soitec's factory in San Diego County. Part of 155 MW of PPAs between Soitec and SDG&E The project holds a long-term power purchase agreement with San Diego Gas & Electric Co. (San Diego, California, U.S.), and will connect to SDG&E's Borrego Springs substation.
